Collagen is regarded as having a low biological value compared to whey due to a unique amino acid profile with lower amounts of BCAA and lysine. However, the mixture of amino acids has been shown to be superior to whey protein in bioavailability and bioefficacy e.g. maintaining nitrogen balance and proven body composition changes in direct comparison to whey.

What makes NOWAY BODYBALANCE ™ different to other hydrolysed collagen, whey or vegetable protein supplements is that the collagen has been made by recreating a digestive process with specific acids controlling pH and enzymes to cleave amino acid chains at specific points to make a bioactive peptide.

The common belief is that mTOR stimulation is proportional to Leucine concentrations. However, NOWAY BODYBALANCE ™ is much lower in leucine than whey yet has been shown to be significantly more powerful than the same dosage of whey protein and leucine directly for mTOR stimulation.
In human muscle cells the RNA expression of mTOR, was statistically significantly increased in comparison with untreated control cell culture experiments (blue bars). Moreover, a statistically significantly increased mTOR level in muscle tissue after 3 months orally BCP administration suggests a positive impact of BCP for muscle formation in vivo (orange bars, mean ± SEM).
Stimulation of both mTOR production and activity shows synergy and not compensation e.g. if I blocked mTOR activity, the body may respond with increased RNA to make more and vice versa.

Don’t get caught up on whether a food is alkaline or acidic in your bowl. We need to know what it does in your body. Regulating pH of your body is multifactorial. NOWAY BODYBALANCE™ has been extensively studied in humans. A summary of the most relevant trials are as follows.
In the first trial in untrained elderly NOWAY BODYBALANCE™ was shown to have significant effects in stimulating fat free muscle mass as well as strength and power compared to placebo (silicon dioxide).
The second trial on untrained middle-aged NOWAY BODYBALANCE™ was compared to whey and placebo. It was shown to have significantly better results than the same dose of whey protein isolate compared to placebo.
The third trial on young trained individuals has shown significant results in building fat free mass compared to placebo.
This combination of studies has proven bioefficacy in both trained and untrained individuals across a large range of ages in randomized double blind placebo controlled trials.
Why use 15 grams of whey? I use 30 or 40 grams!
The summary table below demonstrates that the larger doses of whey do not do anything more than the doses recommended by the makers of whey. Larger doses of whey may be marketed to be more effective but the science provided by the whey experts is different.
